Hartlepool United have been crying out for a big striker this season, it did not quite work out with Mike Fondop - but the signing of Omar Bogle looks to be a very good one.
He has played 11 times this season - scoring just once in his limited opportunities - he has played 90 minutes just once.
The 6 foot 3" centre forward has a lot of experience, playing for the youth teams of West Bromwich Albion, Birmingham and Celtic. He dropped down the leagues to for regular game time.
Signing for Hinckley United and Solihull Moors in the National League North and netted an impressive 66 goals in 116 games - 0.56%.
He signed for National League side Grimsby and continued his good form - winning promotion to League Two. - which promoted Championship sides Wigan and then Cardiff to sign him.
It did not quite work out for him at Cardiff and he found himself on loan at Peterborough, Birmingham and Porstmouth - were he won the EFL Trophy.
He also spent some time on loan abroad at ADO Den Haag over in the Netherlands Eredivisie.
Leaving Cardiff he signed for League One clubs Charlton and then Doncaster Rovers but he found his game time limited.
Pools announced the signing of him last night on a permanent two year and a half deal a great move for the club.
Bogle is an experienced striker and is exactly what Pools need this season, manager Graeme Lee has used a 433 in recent games and Bogle as the central striker in this system could be the change needed to push on in the League.
