To start off The Beautiful Game I thought it would be best to explain the teams that I will most likely be talking and writing about on the website and why I like these teams.
1) Liverpool
Liverpool is the team that I support, since I was a young boy I have watched Liverpool. I can't quite tell you why I chose the Reds as my team. I think it stemmed from watching Steven Gerrard play for England and loving how the midfielder played. Having no one to take me to any football or giving me a team to support it was left to my own devices and I can safely say that I haven't looked back since. I watch every Reds game on the TV, I would love to get to Anfield more often but at this stage in my life it is just unrealistic.
2) Hartlepool United
It is somewhat taboo to have two teams to support, but although Liverpool are my team I do follow Hartlepool United quite strongly. Growing up a bit I could go to the football without any adults so I decided to start watching my local team Hartlepool United at Victoria Park. Although not a massive fan at first I quickly became an avid supported and went to pretty much every home game I was able to from the 2015/16 to the present day, with a fair few away games in there as well.
3) England National Football Team
England are the first team I properly watched and cared about, I was a late bloomer with my love of football and the 2010 world cup was the first competition I really watched properly. I followed them ever since and although the Three Lions weren't always successful I still looked forward to the games and the 2018, much like most England fans was a highlight, if only Kane squared it to Sterling.
4) Australia National Football Team
Having family ties to the country I have always liked the country and being eligible, although very unlikely to play for them has always interested me. Although the time difference and availability on TV it is hard to watch games, but I still try to watch as many as I can. I still follow the results, who gets called up and I am interested in how the Socceroos players perform at club level. Australia, who play in Asia football competitions always seem to qualify for the World Cup so it is always good to watch them on the big stage.
5) Gillingham
A bit of a strange one, I started following Gillingham when I started a player career mode back on FIFA 13 with my team Liverpool. At random I was loaned out to Gillingham and I have followed them since. That year Gillingham were promoted to League One and have stayed there ever since. I do follow their results but I will be honest it does not keep me up at night. They have had some great players in the past like John Egan and Bradley Dack who have went on to make names of themselves in the football world. I probably won't produce much content on Gillingham on this website, but they will always have a place in my heart.
There are my top 5 times that I follow, although I am a football fan in general so there will be much more content on this website of all teams around the world. I am a fan of North East football in general, including lower league football as well. So there will be a lot of football content on this website. European football is another interest in mine with Champions League nights being a highlight.
