LOAN WATCH: Wilson and Elliott on fire in head to head clash

Liverpool lost to Real Madrid in the away leg on Tuesday night, but bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Southampton thanks to a late goal from Trent Alexander-Arnold.


How did the players out on loan get on in their games?

 

Takumi Minamino - Southampton

Taki was again an unused substitute on Monday night, a 3-0 defeat to Sam Allardyce's West Brom - as they stayed in 14th place in the Premier League.

Harvey Elliott - Blackburn Rovers & Harry Wilson & Sheyi Ojo - Cardiff City

The Liverpool men came up against each other on Saturday, and both Wilson and Elliott had great games.


Wilson set up both Cardiff goals and Elliott set up Rovers' first in a 2-2 draw in the Championship - Ojo was an unused substitute.


Blackburn remained in 17th place and Cardiff remained in eighth place in the table.

Sepp van den Berg - Preston North End

Van den Berg played in a slightly different role, right wing back and it didn't do too much to help as Preston lost 5-0 at home to Brentford.


However, they did remain in 16th place in the Championship.

Liam Millar - Charlton Athletic

Millar came off the bench in the 66th minute in a 2-1 victory away at promotion hopefuls Sunderland in League One.


The Canadian's side remained in seventh place in the table.

Loris Karius and Taiwo Awoniyi - FC Union Berlin

Both players did not feature for Union Berlin, in a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich on Saturday - keeping them in seventh place in the Bundesliga.

Awoniyi Games: 20 Goals: 5 Assists: 4

 

Marko Grujic - FC Porto On Wednesday night, Grujic played in an advanced midfield position in the Champions League and played the full game a 2-0 loss at home to Chelsea.


Grujic then started in his usual central midfield in a 2-0 away victory at Tondela - keeping them in second place in Liga Nos.

Adam Lewis - Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth lost at home, 3-0 to Hull City on Saturday, and Lewis played the full game at left wing back.


Despite the defeat Argyle remained in 16th place in the League One table.

Kamil Grabara - AGF

Grabara's side lost 2-0 at home to Randers in the DBU Pokalen semi-final first leg on Thursday.


The Pole missed Sunday's 4-1 defeat to Midtiylland in the Danish Superligaen and it dropped them down to fourth place in the table.

Vítězslav Jaroš - St Patrick's Athletic

Jaros again played the full game in goal in a 2-0 victory at home to 10 man Derry City - keeping a clean sheet in the process.


After Friday's game St. Pats rose to top of the table thanks to the Czech keepers safe hands between the sticks.
