LOAN WATCH: How did the players away from Anfield play in their games this week?

Liverpool continued their poor form, as the Reds lost 3-1 away at Leicester City as the fight for top four is now on.


Did the loan players have better luck in their games throughout the week?

 

Takumi Minamino - Southampton

Minamino was cup tied for Southampton's 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup on Thursday night.


Wolves then got their revenge in the Premier League on Sunday and Minamino started at left midfield, losing 2-1 and dropping them down to 13th place.

Harvey Elliott - Blackburn Rovers & Sepp van den Berg - Preston North End

Rovers lost 2-1 to Preston at Ewood Park and Elliott came off the bench in the 63rd minute but could not make an impact as Rovers dropped down to ninth in the Championship.


But van den Berg was an unused substitute in the game for Preston as they stayed in 11th place.

Harry Wilson & Sheyi Ojo - Cardiff City

Ojo scored after being assisted by Wilson, but Ojo picked up a knock and was taken off in the 53rd minute as Cardiff beat Rotherham 2-1 away from home.


On Saturday, Ojo was missing but Wilson played in the number 10 for Cardiff as they cruised to a 3-1 victory over Coventry.


After the two victories Cardiff are sitting in 7th place 6 points off a playoff spot in the Championship.

Liam Millar - Charlton Athletic

Millar started at left midfield on Saturday as Charlton lost 3-2 against Gillingham in League One and he got an assist for the first goal.


But Charlton dropped down to eighth place in the League, just a point off the playoff places.

Loris Karius and Taiwo Awoniyi - FC Union Berlin

Karius and Awoniyi both started in a 0-0 draw against Schalke at home in the Bundesliga on Saturday, as they remained in 9th place.

Marko Grujic - FC Porto

Grujic came off the bench in the 80th minute on Wednesday in the first leg of the Taca de Portugal semi final where they drew 1-1 despite being down to 9 men.


The midfielder then came off the bench at halftime in a 2-2 draw against Boavista in Liga NOS, keeping them in second place.

Adam Lewis - Plymouth Argyle

Lewis came off the bench to play in midfield on Tuesday to help Argyle see out a 1-0 win and again on Saturday in a 1-0 victory against Fleetwood in League One.


Plymouth moved up to 10th place in League One after the two victories.

Kamil Grabara - AGF

Grabara played the full game in goal on Wednesday in the Danish Cup as AGF won the first leg of the quarters 3-1.


The Polish shotstopper then seen out a 0-0 draw in the Danish Superligaen against OB as they remained in third place.

Anderson Arroyo - Salamanca UDS


Arroyo played the full game at right back and picked up a yellow card as his side lost 3-1 against Pontevedra in Group 1:A of the promotion playoff places in the Spanish Segunda Division as they remained in 9th place.
