LFC LOAN WATCH: Minamino and Wilson on fire, disappointment for Elliott and Karius back in it

Liverpool had a mixed week, a very comfortable 2-0 win away in the Champions League against RB Leipzig followed by a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Everton on Saturday night.


Did the players out on loan have better fortunes?

 

Takumi Minamino - Southampton

Southampton, very impressively drew 1-1 against Chelsea at St. Mary's and Minamino scored the opener on Saturday- continuing his impressive start.


The draw kept the Saints in 13th place in the Premier League, eight points off the relegation zone.

Harvey Elliott - Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn lost again, this time 2-1 away at Barnsley in the Championship, Elliott was benched for this game but came on to set up what was just a consolation in the 90th minute.


Then Elliott played the full game in the number 10, on Saturday, but could not help his side to a win as they lost 1-0 away at Nottingham Forest.


However, despite the defeat they remained in 12th place in the Championship.

Harry Wilson & Sheyi Ojo - Cardiff City

Wilson scored a great goal, the opener in the 53rd minute, as the Bluebirds cruised past Luton Town 2-0 on Tuesday night. Ojo was still missing through injury.


Cardiff continued their fine form in the Championship with a 4-0 victory over Preston North End on Saturday.


Wilson got an assist and Ojo returned from his injury replacing Joshua Murphy upfront in the 60th minute.


After the two games they are in 7th place in the Championship, three points off a playoff place.

Sepp van den Berg - Preston North End

The Dutchman was an unused substitute in Preston's 1-0 at home to Watford on Tuesday and the 4-0 defeat to Wilson and Ojo's Cardiff on Saturday.


Preston dropped down to 14th place in the Championship.

Liam Millar - Charlton Athletic

Millar played the full game at right midfield this time and picked up a yellow card in a 1-1 draw away at Fleetwood Town dropping them down to 9th place in the League One table.

Games: 10 Goals: 2 Assists: 3

 

Loris Karius and Taiwo Awoniyi - FC Union Berlin

Karius started the game, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory away at Freiburg, but Awoniyi was absent from the squad with a muscle injury.


Union Berlin moved up to 7th place in the Bundesliga now in the Europa League Qualification spot and they are just three points off 6th place Borussia Dortmund in the automatic qualifiers.

Marko Grujic - FC Porto

Grujic came off the bench in the 66th minute in the Champions League to help see out a very impressive win 2-1 victory over Juventus at home.

Adam Lewis - Plymouth Argyle

Lewis came off the bench to play in midfield on Saturday in a 0-0 draw away at Rochdale in League One, which kept Plymouth in 10th place.

Games: 7 Goals: 1 Assists: 0

 

Kamil Grabara - AGF

Grabara played the full game in goal on Sunday and kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory over SonderjyskE in the Danish Superligaen - and they stayed in third place.

Games: 17 Clean Sheets: 7

 

Anderson Arroyo - Salamanca UDS

Arroyo played the full game at right back in 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo B on Sunday, in the third tier of Spain and they remained in 9th place.
