Hartlepool United are desperate for a few additions to the squad ahead of the upcoming League Two season.
The free-agent market is a perfect opportunity to bring in some players without paying a transfer fee and we have highlighted some names that could be perfect for Paul Hartley's side.
5) Callum McManaman
McManaman was the FA Cup-winning man of the match back in 2013 with Wigan Athletic, and he has been about the block since then.
An out-and-out traditional right-winger, something Pools are looking for this season - McManaman played in the North East with Sunderland a return could be on the horizon.
After being released from Tranmere Rovers, Hartley could be looking at the experienced winger to bring in as a big name for the squad.
4) George Williams
Another winger on this list, Williams is a seven-time Wales international and is available for free following his release from Barrow this summer.
He is currently out injured with a broken collarbone but he has no doubt got the quality needed out wide for this Hartlepool United side.
At 26 he still has a lot to offer, he has played most of his football at League Two level so Pools will be no problem for him.
3) Mikael Mandron
A no stranger to the North East, after breaking through the academy at Sunderland, he even joined Pools on loan in 2015.
Mandron was released by Crewe Alexandria, after scoring 10 goals for them in 40 games this season in League One.
Pools are desperate for a striker and Mandron could be a viable option for Paul Hartley, someone who knows the area well and has experience at this level.
2) Lee Tomlin
Tomlin was a fan favourite during his last stint in the North East with Middlesbrough - an attacking midfielder who is great on the ball and with plenty of experience at Championship level.
His last club was Wallsall, were he played just five games for them last season including against Hartlepool in the last game of the season.
Tomlin could bring a bit of class and experience to the side, but there is a question whether how many games he could play - if he is fit and ready he will be a great addition to the squad.
1) Luke Murphy
A very experienced central midfielder with over 400 games in the football league, Murphy was released after his second spell with Crewe this season.
He still has a lot to offer after playing 43 games last season for League One Crewe but he has found himself looking for a new club.
Hartlepool could snap up the 32-year-old to bolster their midfield adding quality and depth and a player who knows what it takes to win.
