FIVE forwards Hartlepool United could bring in on loan from a National League North club

With all steps below the National League cancelled there are a lot of players available for a few months with no football to play.

Dave Challinor could look at some players from the National League North to come and help out Pools until the end of the season.

The Hartlepool United boss has stated that he his looking to add to the squad and another forward is something he is keen on.

So, here are five forwards that could be loaned from a National League North club until the end of the season:

Greg Olley - Gateshead

Olley had a fansatic 2018/19 season with Gateshead in the National League with eight goals in 41 games.

The wideman is a a fan favourite on Tyneside and has even featured for the England C team in 2019.

With his pace and dribbling abilities he could be a great addition for Pools' side an add an extra option for the playoff push.

Danny Elliott - Chester

The forward has seven goals in 17 games this season for Chester a fanatic return that seen them to a third place finish before the premature end to the season.

Elliott started his career in youth teams of Notingham Forest and Aston Villa and then over in America playing for Hofstra University in New York.

He played in the Spanish fourth tier before coming back to England with Port Vale in League Two put did not play often and he moved to Chester.

Elliott could be a solid striker off the bench and add goals to games which are lacking them, something you can't expect of Mason Bloomfield.

Erico Sousa - Darlington

Although Darlington are Hartlepool's rivals they do have some great players at that level and a mutually beneficial agreement could be agreed between the two clubs.

Born in Portugal, the winger moved to England at 10 years old and played in Manchester City's and Barnsley's academy's.

After spells with Hyde United, Celje in Slovenia, Tadcaster, Accrington and Tranmere, Sousa moved to Darlo where he found form.

Four goals in nine matches this season for Darlington is a great turn around for a winger and he even contributed to three more goals in FA Trophy matches.

He could be a fantastic goal getting wideman that Pools can benefit from and given he won't be playing no football Darlo manager Alun Armstrong may be willing to give his son Luke a bit of help upfront.

Adam Campbell - Darlington

Another Darlo player, but Campbell is a former Hartlepool United player and from the North East so a move to Pools may suit him if only temporary.

An experienced player with three Premier League appearances for Newcastle, Campbell has struggled to find a home and form through his career.

Returning to the North East with Darlo helped revitalise his career and scored an impressive 15 goals in 33 games in the 2019/20 season.

Campbell has proven quality and will offer a lot upfront if a move to his clubs rivals can be looked at.

Matt McClure - Gloucester City

The leagues top scorer with 12 goals in 14 games - absolute clinical form and it could benefit having two goal getters upfront for Pools.

McClure played 110 games and scored 24 goals in the Football League with Wycombe Wanderers in his earlier career.

He dropped down the leagues and found form but has had his best return for his current club.

Two time Northern Ireland Under 21 international can be a welcomed temporary addition for the side.

BONUS - Tyrone O'Neill - Middlesbrough

Joining Pools on loan from Middlesbrough in the 2018/19 season he wasn't given too much of a chance and was sent back to Boro when Richard Money became the boss and wanted a freshen up.

He joined Darlo the next season and scored 7 goals in 17 - he was recalled by Boro and made an appearance that season.

O'Neill rejoined Darlo this season on loan and was a fan favourite working well with Campbell upfront.

Nine goals in 27 games was his return and maybe a loan to Pools at the higher level could suit him, Boro and Pools for the remained of the season.
