Every young Borussia Dortmund star currently playing this season

Borussia Dortmund have been very successful in using young players, buying them from other clubs in Europe and turning them into stars quite quickly.

The likes of Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho have been brought in as young players and quickly turned into two of the best talents in Europe.

But they are not the only two currently playing at Dortmund and you could make a full XI of players 22 and under who could be massive stars in the future.

Here are eleven of Borussia Dortmund's talents this season:

GK - Luca Unbehaun

The German shot stopper is currently third choicer keeper at BVB and has featured on the bench this season covering for Marcel Hitz who played when Roman Burki got injured.

Unbehaun hasn't yet featured for Dortmund but training with one of the best keepers in Europe in Burki a chance will surely come soon for the 19-year-old.

RB - Mateu Morey

The Spanish right back was picked up from Barcelona in 2019 on a free transfer after he rejected a new contract and it has proven to be a good bit of business.

At 20-years-old he has played 15 times for the first team in his two seasons, now the clubs second choice RB/RWB behind Thomas Meunier.

He has the number 2 shirt which shows he is well thought of at Borussia Dortmund has been given a few starts this season to prove it.

CB - Leonardo Balerdi

An Argentinian central defender, Balerdi was signed from Boca Juniors for €15million in 2019.

He has played 12 times and even scored once in the Bundesliga, he is currently out on loan to Marseille in Ligue 1 he has played six times and scored once.

Balerdi looks like he could be a good centre back for Borussia Dortmund but at 22-years-old he may not have broke into the side as quickly as his younger teammates.

CB - Dan-Axel Zagadou

A large, commanding, left footed centre back, Zagadou was signed from PSG's B side in 2017 on a free transfer and played for Dortmund's first team as a back up and squad player mainly.

At 21 years old he has played 65 times for Dortmund across four seasons, he has had his injury troubles this season but has all the qualities that a modern say centre back needs.

LB - Felix Passlack

A right back by trade, Passlack has had a difficult couple of years, spending the last three seasons on loan at Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivise, Norwich City (were he rarely played), and Hoffenheim were he mainly played in the youth team,

However, this season he has been a part of the squad, playing games at right wing back and left wing back, being a decent squad option and cover.

At 22 years old he still has time to prove he can play regularly for the team he started his career with.

CM - Reinier Jesus Carvalho

The 19 year old his currently on loan from Real Madrid in search for some first team football, much like Achraf Hakimi the last two seasons.

After signing for Real from Flamengo in 2018 he played in the Real Madrid Castilla team last season, playing three times and scoring two goals.

He has played just eight times this season but shows promise in his limited minutes from an attacking midfield role.

CM - Jude Bellingham

Following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho, the young Englishmen stared for Birmingham City in the Championship at just 16 years old.

Showing composure and maturity beyond his years prompted every team in the world to look at the wonder kid, but it was Dortmund who win his signature in 2020 after 44 games before he was 17.

Bellingham has played consistently in Dortmund's midfield this season and has proved his £25million transfer fee to be a bargain for the most expensive 17-year-old in history. He isn't even 18 yet.

RM - Jadon Sancho

Sancho is still just only 20 years old and has attracted every club in the world to his signature after several stand out displays in the Bundesliga.

The tricky winger moved from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund in 2017, becoming one of the first major youngsters to move away from England to get game time.

And did he just, scoring 12 goals and getting 14 assists in his first season, he set the bar for players needing to move away and you are never too young to make an immediate impact.

LM - Giovanni Reyna

The United States international moved to Dortmund in 2019 from New York City FC and like Christian Pulisic before him done very well following a move from America.

He has become a regular starter this season, playing on the left or behind the striker, and has put in great displays, notably his hattrick of assists against Freiberg in October.

He is just 18 years old and still has a lot to prove, but is looking like he will do just that.

ST - Erling Haaland

Everyone knows the name of Erling Haaland as he seems to score every week, after signing from Red Bull Salzburg in Janurary 2020 he hit the ground running.

He has scored 37 goals in 38 games for Borussia Dortmund, which really is unthinkable numbers for a player in their prime and not one at just 20 years old.

Haaland is already one of Europes best players and if he keeps this goal record up there is no reason why he won't become a true legend of the game.

ST - Youssoufa Moukoko

Moukoko has broke through this season, at just 16 years old he has played 10 times for Dortmund this season, scoring once that made him the youngest scorer in Bundesliga history.

He had a fantastic goal scoring record in his youth career, playing well above his age group and was training with the first team since he was 15.

Due to Bundesliga rules he could not play until he was 16 and they did not wait long as a day after his 16th birthday he made his debut. The leagues youngest ever player and goal scorer.
