DOUBLE AGENTS: SEVEN players to have played for both Wolves and LFC

Liverpool face Wolves tonight away at the Molineux, both teams need the three points as either side are not where they ideally would like to be in the Premier League table.

There has been a lot of players who have turned out for both sides of the fixture including Liverpool new boy Diogo Jota, who was transferred directly from Wolves in the summer.

These are seven players who have played for both teams ahead of the game tonight:

Alun Evans

A forward who played throughout the late 60s and until the early 80s, Evans started his career with Wolves and played for one season in the first team before Bill Shankly brought him to Anfield in 1968.

He made 79 appearances and scored 21 goals in the league before the signing of Kevin Keegan forced him to move to Aston Villa in 1972.

He then went on to play for Walsall, South Melbourne in Australia and finished his career with Morwell Falcons in 1983.

Emyln Hughes

Hughes was a fanstastic player and a loyal servant to the Reds, starting his career with Blackpool, the defender moved to Liverpool in 1967.

He went on to make 474 league appearances for the Reds and scored 35 goals – he lifted four League titles, one FA cup and two European Cups.

The Englishmen then moved to Wolves in 1979 after 12 years with Liverpool and lifted a League Cup with them.

Sheyi Ojo

Ojo signed for Liverpool from MK Dons as a youngster and has made eight league appearances for the Reds as of the time of writing starting in 2015.

The winger joined Wolves on loan for seven months in August 2015 before being recalled in January – he made 17 appearances for the club and scored two goals.

Ojo's career has not really took off in Liverpool and has been loaned out many times and he is currently out on loan at Cardiff City in the Championship.

Connor Coady

Born in Liverpool, Coady made one first team appearance for the Reds in the Premier League in 2013 in a 3-1 win against Fulham.

After a loan spell with Sheffield United, Coady moved to Huddersfield Town in 2014 and then to Championship side Wolves a year after.

Coady slowly moved from a defensive midfielder to a central defender at Wolves and won the title and promotion to the Premier League with them in 2018 – he was also made captain of the club.

Paul Ince

Ince started his career with West Ham before moving to Manchester United, Inter Milan and then Liverpool in 1997.

He made 65 league appearances for the Redmen and scored 14 goals over two seasons in Merseyside.

The midfielder then signed for Middlesbrough and then Wolverhampton in 2002 where he made 115 league appearances and scored 10 goals, also winning the Football League First Division play offs in 2003.

Robbie Keane

Keane started his career with Wolves in 1997, making 73 league appearances and scored 24 goals before signing for a plethora of different clubs.

He signed for Liverpool in 2008 from Tottenham Hotspur in July but only made 19 appearances for the Reds and scored 5 goals before resigning for Spurs in January of the same season.

The Irishman eventually hung up his boots in 2018 after being the player manager of ATK in the Indian Super League.

Diogo Jota

Jota signed for Liverpool this summer, for £41million, adding some well needed offensive cover for the Reds.

He joined Wolves in 2017 in the Championship, initially on loan from Atletico Madrid and helped them played win the title and promotion to the top flight that season.

The Portuguese joined permanently the next season and played 131 times for Wolves across three seasons scoring 44 goals in all competitions.

Jota has scored nine goals in 20 games for Liverpool including a hattrick in the Champions League against Atlanta.

But, he has spent a few months out with injury but is now back and ready to kick on from his great start to his life on Merseyside.
