Liverpool face Brighton at home to Anfield tomorrow night, so The Beautiful Game looks at some players who have played for both sides of the clash.
5) Alan Navarro
Navarro started his career with the Reds, but did not make a single appearance, going out on loan to Crewe Alexandria and Tranmere, were he signed for permanently in 2002.
He eventually signed for Brighton in 2009 after spells with Macclesfield, Accrington Stanley and MK Dons.
The midfielder played 85 times across three years, scoring one goal, before being released in 2012.
4) João Carlos Teixeira
The attacking midfielder came through the Liverpool youth academy after signing from Sporting CP as a 19 year old.
He did not play too much for Liverpool and was loaned to Brentford in 2013 and then Brighton for the 2014/15 season.
Teixeira did well for Brighton in the Championship and played 35 times scoring 6 goals and winning young player of the year for that season.
He left Liverpool in 2016 after making eight appearances in four years for FC Porto and is now at Feyenoord over in the Netherlands.
3) Dean Saunders
Saunders started with his local club Swansea, making his first appearance in 1982, he could not get a regular spot in the side, scoring 12 in 49 and moved to Brighton on a free transfer in 1985.
He played for two seasons, scoring 14 in his first season and six in 30 league games the following season. Saunders left for Oxford.
After a year with Oxford he left for Derby, where he done very well prompting Liverpool to make a then English record fee of £2.9million to bring him to Anfield in 1991.
Saunders did well for Liverpool, winning the FA Cup and finishing the clubs top scorer, but moved on after a season to Aston Villa.
2) Mark Lawrenson
The defender was very successful during his Liverpool career, but he started with Preston in 1974, he played for three seasons in the Third Division.
Second Division Brighton took a chance on him in 1977 and it paid off, winning promotion to the First Division after two seasons.
He played 152 times for Brighton across four seasons, Liverpool bought him for a then club record fee of £900k in 1981 and formed a solid partnership with Alan Hansen.
Lawrenson won the First Division five times, the FA Cup once, the League Cup three times, the Charity shield twice, the European League Super Cup and the European Cup across his seven seasons with Liverpool.
He left Liverpool in 1982 to Barnet after a decreased role in his final season. He made 356 appearances scoring 18 goals.
1) Adam Lallana
A true modern day Liverpool legend, Lallana began life with Southampton in the Championship in 2006 and played for eight seasons, including back to back promotions from League One to the Premier League across the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons.
He proved himself in the Premier League for Southampton, earning himself a £25million move to Liverpool in 2014.
Lallana was a very good player in his first three seasons with Liverpool, but after a serious injury in 2017 his appearances were limited across his final three seasons.
He always gave 100% and won the Premier League, Super Cup, Club World Cup and Champions League with Liverpool.
Lallana left for Brighton at the start of this season in search for first team footballer and has played 15 games for the Seagulls so far.
