Classic Football Shirts were set up in 2006 as two recently graduated students noticed a gap in the market, when trying to get hold of a classic football shirt themselves. They set up a business to sell retro and vintage football shirts online and have expanded their services greatly in the years since. As well as the usual marketing of sales and new products, just like any other business, CFS do something a bit more different on their social media platforms. Their Twitter and Instagram pages are regularly updated with graphics and fan interaction. On Instagram they post edited photos of current footballers in new kits, something that all football fans can get behind - they mainly post photos of shirts, and just classic football photo's something that isn't in your face about promoting their business.
Twitter is used by CSF to mainly engage with fans, they do a theme all around football shirts, posting photos of kits of a certain colour and asking fans to name some more or their favourites.
Both are great forms of PR as it something extra to help push their brand and it gives a great level of interaction between the organisation and its publics. Another great form of PR they do is their pop up shops they set up in the big cities in the UK regularly, not only is it a great way to sell their product, giving people a chance to view shirts in person, it also pushes their brand out to the older or younger generation who may not see it online. Classic football shirts are a great company that go above and beyond from selling football kits and are now an online presence and brand in their own right.
The Beautiful Game is currently running a giveaway for £50 to spend on their website which can be found on this tweet:
