Report: Greensides 2-2 (3-1p) FC Vibes

FC Vibes lose on penalties after coming back to equalise in a tough game against Greensides in the John Dowson Champions League

The Greensides took a grip of the game early on creating more of the chances, and in the 22nd minute, they took the lead after heading home a corner.

In the 35th minute, the Greenies doubled their lead after Adam Linsel came out to clear the ball but mistimed and it fell to the number 9 who took it around him and scored.

Vibes pressed for another goal and in the 45th minute, Liam Jackson scored an acrobatic effort after an Ollie Watt cross that sailed past the Greensides keeper to put Vibes back into the game before the break.

In the 53rd minute Josh Daley whipped in a great cross that the Greensides keeper failed to claim, Watt was there at the back post to squeeze it in - levelling the game.

The second half both sides tried their best to find a winner but none could beat either keeper and the game went to penalties.

Anth Thompson and Jamie Jobson both failed to score from the spot, the Greensides scored their first two - Barry Milligan converted his spot-kick but the damage had been done and the Greenies slotted their third one home and won the shootout.

Barry Milligan won man of the match after a great performance at centre back, still some massive games to go in the season. UTV.
