Vibes beaten by Gillen Arms in a very competitive fixture in fourth pre-season game
Vibes started the game shaky, although Brad Green had a chance for a goal in the 9th minute but his shot was well saved by the Gillen keeper.
Fortunes quickly changed, in the 11th minute as Liam Jackson mistimed a pass back to the oncoming Reece Whitelock in the Vibes goal, he could do nothing with the ball and it ricocheted straight Aaron Flounders who could not miss.
Alex Weegram had a good shot in the 24th minute to win Vibes a corner, and as a result John Sutherland latched on to a ball and powered home the equaliser, a great strike.
However, the score was not level for long as twelve minutes later Flounders was played through with a defence splitting pass and his shot hit the post originally but it rebounded back to him and he slotted it home.
In the 44th minute Vibes grabbed another equaliser, Weegram whipped in a great deep freekick which found Ollie Watt who headed it back across goal and was turned in by Green.
Vibes made a lot of changed in the second half and settled into the game a lot more, controlling possession but failing to create any real chances.
The second half was a lot less exiting than the first and Flounders got his hattrick and a late winner for the Gillen in the 88th minute as he was again played through and finished past Whitelock.
A decent game from Vibes positives to take and a good run out, but this is what pre season is about finding out what works and what doesn't.
John Sutherland wins man of the match after a great game in defence and an absolute cracker of a goal #JS27
