Report: FC Vibes 7-3 Gillen Arms

Vibes get back to winning ways after torturing the Gillens at Brierton on Sunday

The game was fairly open in the first 20 minutes despite the one sided scoreline but it was Vibes who opened the scoring as Anth Thompson played a great ball out from the back to play through Ollie Watt who put a defender on the deck and then the keeper who he lobbed the ball over - shades of Diogo Jota.

However, a lapse of judgement forced a comical error from John Sutherland and Alex Weegram who forgot how to defend for a second and somehow let Sunday League journeyman Jack Wood notch a goal - the Gillens were somehow back in it.

Josh Daley scored straight from a corner in the 35th minute as he curled it into the far corner, top bins, keeper had no chance.

2-1 at half time, both teams playing some great football but really only one side in it, the skipper Craig Altringham comes off the bench for Alex Weegram.

Immediately from the break Daley gets his second of the game as he picks up a loose ball from the Gillens defence and slots it home to make it 3-1.

Just like that just two minutes later, Joe Boarder then continued his great form getting his 16th of the season after a great ball to him from Watt.

And another two minutes later Vibes got their fifth, a fantastic run from left back from Michael Snowdon and finds Ollie Watt at the back post who taps it in.

It was at this point in the game that the Gillens could have got a point in the game, despite showing no real resilience prior to this.

In the 63rd minute John Sutherland took down Wood as he was through on goal, a clear yellow card challenge - a car crash of a display from the vice-captain.

From this freekick, Gillens got a goal back, Wood rifled it into the back of the net after it was rolled too him, a great goal to make it 5-2.

Peter Moore got his first goal for the club after another great run from Snowdon who found him in the box who took it well and made it 6-2.

In the 75th minute Gillens got another back, didn't see what happened to be honest.

Boarder bagged again in the 90th minute after he danced round the defence with his silky footwork and rifled it into the bottom corner after Ben Relton played it to his feet.

A great win, well deserved for Vibes, Daley man of the match after two great goals and overall great work in the midfield as always - a proper talent.
