Report: FC Vibes 10-0 Wrekenton Blue Star FC

Vibes through to next round of County Cup after hitting double figures against ten man Wrekenton

Seventy five minutes were enough for FC Vibes to see out South Shields Sunday Football League side Wrekenton Blue Star - who had former Hartlepool united frontman Scott Fenwick playing.

A Sunday morning 45 minute drive was perhaps too much for a lot of the Wrekenton lads who only had 10 players available - taking away some of the competition from the match.

However, Vibes had a job to do and started strongly with Joe Boarder getting the first just three minutes in after a great ball in from Jamie Jobson and a finish at the far post.

John Sutherland got his first goal of the season after Craig Altringham played a corner short to Michael Connolly who drilled it in and it was converted into the bottom corner by Sutherland to double the lead seven minutes in.

Wrekenton went up the other end and Fenwick had a chance to for a goal at the near post but Adam Linsel was equal to it.

In the 15th minute Vibes got the third after Altringham played Connolly in over the top with a lovely weighted ball and MC struck the ball home on the volley

The fourth came in the 22nd minute from Jobson with a side footed effort into the bottom corner after a ball to his feet from Boarder.

Two minutes later came the fifth, the goalkick was played straight to Altringham who chipped the keeper (again).

The goals flooded in and at the 25 minute mark Vibes got the sixth of the game - Boarder backheeled the ball to Connolly who again dinked the keeper.

Barry Milligan joined in on the goals ten minutes before the break, Connolly plays it out wide and the right back ran in to power it into the near post.

The job was done at half time and Vibes made plenty of changes but immediately got things underway after Josh Daley made it eight after Anth Wilson played him through.

Matty Doughty picked up another yellow card after taking down his man and giving away a freekick, but it led to nothing.

In the 72nd minute Alex Weegram scored a goal after picking it up and slotting it into the bottom corner for Vibes 10th.

Linsel made a great save to deny a Wrekenton chance, played it long to Connolly who found Boarder who got his second.

The referee had seen enough and called the game at the 75 minute mark, Wrekenton had went down to nine men after an injury to their number 10 in the second half.

After two goals and three assists Michael Connoly picked up his third man of the match, another great performance from our number 14.

Vibes class again, ten goals, clean sheet, into the next round. UTV.
