Report: FC Vibes 1-3 Gillen Arms

Gillen Arms put three past higher division side Vibes to go through to next round of the Bradley Lowery Cup

Liam Jackson scored the first goal for Vibes in the 15th minute but goals from Nathan Wall in the 19th, Scott Mincher in the 52nd and Connor Swift in the 55th meant that Gillens claimed the victory in the game.

Gillens started strongly and in the 3rd minute shot from outside of the area but Sean Farnsworth in goal for Vibes made a great save.

Jackson scored a fantastic goal in the 15th minute for the opener for Vibes, a curled effort from 35-yards out that cannoned into the top corner and in off the underside of the bar.

However, Gillens quickly turned things around as Jack Stonehouse gave away a freekick on the edge of the box for a late tackle in the 19th minute.

The freekick was drilled in and forced a save by Farnsworth, but parried it out to Alex Costello, who failed to clear, and Wall turned it into net.

Michael Connolly had some early chances for Vibes in the second half to find a goal, but none of his strikes were hit with any real venom.

Craig Altringham also nearly scored in the 50th minute with a header from a freekick whipped in by Stonehouse, but the midfielder’s header sailed over the bar.

Mincher came in from the left for Gillens just two minutes later and his strike powered into the Vibes keepers near post to put Gillens into the lead.

Gillens added another to the lead in the 55th minute through Swift as we were played through on goal and got the better of the keeper making it 3-1 to Gillens.

Vibes thought they found away through to the game as in the 72nd minute forward Jack Wood got sent off for Gillens for an off the ball incident, but Gillens worked hard to keep their lead.

Connolly had a great chance for a goal from a freekick in the 92nd minute but it was a great save by the Gillen Arms keeper to keep the score at 3-1.

Not a good game for Vibes, massive credit to the Gillens who deserved to win the game and Vibes wish them well in the next round, whenever that will be played.

Liam Jackson wins man of the match for Vibes for his terrific opener in the game.
