Match Report: Billingham Lions 0-4 7VEN Lounge & Terrace FC

7VEN FC open pre-season account with a 4-0 victory over Billingham Lions thanks in part to a Jamie Jobson hatrick.

7VEN, who played their first game under the new name, started with a strong tempo not giving Billingham any time on the ball and forcing them into errors.

This pressure almost resulted in an early goal as Aiden Lamb tried to curl his effort into the empty net but the Billingham defender was quick to clear it off the line.

However, 7VEN did finally open the scoring in the 18th minute as Jamie Jobson got on the end of a Michael Snowdon cross to fire it into the back of the net.

But he wasn't done there, just three minutes later he got his second as Craig Altringham played in a ball across the face of goal, Jobson touched it down perfectly and powered his strike into the near post.

After half-time and some changes the goals cooled, but 7VEN never looked in any danger playing a very high tempo.

The third goal eventually came in the 69th minute, Snowdon again was the provider but this time to Joe Cockrill off the bench who poked home the wingers cross.

Five minutes later Cockrill was denied a second as his strike from range was well saved by the Billingham Lions keeper, who had a decent game.

In the 75th minute Jobson completed his hattrick with a great hit from range that sailed into the top corner, after a loose ball out from the Lions shotstopper.

That was pretty much the last action of the game with both sides feeling the effects of the first pre-season game, Man of the Match goes to Jamie Jobson with a superb hattrick.
