7VEN lose out on the opening day of the Premier League season to Wanderers amid VAR controversy.
7VEN started on the front foot and looked the better side in the opening moments of the game, they had a great chance to open the scoring in the fourth minute through Harrison Smith but the keeper was equal to his chance and the defence cleared their lines.
After constant pressure 7VEN broke the deadlock in the game through Lewis Boylen, he hit his strike low and hard into the bottom corner after it was cleared straight to him.
However, after the goal Throston Wanderers grew into the game and started to get chances, the 7VEN defence dealt with it comfortably.
It was just before the break that Wanderers grabbed their equaliser, it fell to Scott Close from a corner who struck a deflected effort into the top corner.
Unfortunately, it didn't take long for Throston to get what would be the winner after the break, the number 4 fired one in from a clearance, which the linesman flagged for the ball going out but the referee gave the goal.
Both teams had their chances throughout the second half but none that could break any defensive line, the best chance for either side game again through Smith who was denied in the 86th minute from a decent stop by the Throston goalkeeper.
Disappointing first day of the season, 7Ven deserved something from the game but sadly not enough chances where created.
Man of the match goes to Lewis Boylen who was fantastic in the midfield and even got a goal to top off his performance.
